Interesting fact for all to know.

With all the scaremongering on the net, I was quite worried that propecia which I take daily was affecting my sperm concentration, sperm mobility and sperm morphology. I therefore, plunged to get my sperm checked in a fertility clinic.

2 weeks down the line, the results were great news. My sperm is within normal parameters and are healthy as ever. Just for people to know, I have been on propecia for 9 years. Even my own GP was telling me to come off it. How little these people know.

Just for people who are interested in how the test works. You are to abstain from ejaculating for 4 to 5 days. No less and no longer as it is believed that sperm conditions are very poor after the 5th day. Too early and the sperm concentration is actually very low. These were stated by the fertility clinic.

On the day, you can do this at home if you live nearby the fertility clinic. You are giving one hour to ejaculate and pass the tub to the clinic. You must urinate before masturbation. By the way, you are not allowed to use any lubrication, sex, sex toys as it can interfere with the result. Just plain old masturbation in the morning. Poor me.

The hilarious thing was squirting the ejaculate into the tub. The tub was way to small and thin to stick the penis into the tub. If you drop any ejaculate, you are to tell the fertility clinic.

Just to say, it was not fun at all. The stress you get from ejaculating to hurrying up into the clinic is horrendous. Especially, when you have to beat the morning working traffic.

So, all in all - do not take any scaremongering at face value!

Update - pictures from 15/10/2010

Just to say, some of the pictures have flash and some do not. This was done on purpose. The flash makes it look like you are balding more but without flash it provides a true reflection on if you are receding faster than you think.

Another thing, I am still continuing to take propecia (merck), and rubbing in Spectral DNC-lotion only at the night. You can see this green-tinge colour on the temples due to the Spectral DNC-lotion. Has it made a difference? My left temple region has not budged a bit or receded at all for the time being. The right side has it's nice days. Sometimes I think some hair has grown and sometimes, I believe it has not changed. This is maybe a good thing.

I've not decided to change my regime but I hardly use nizoral to be honest. For a good few months, I have not used it. The only time I used it was when my scalp got sun burn and it was itching like mad.

Another day, another haircut.

Another haircut. As you can see, the temple area is the most prominent place of hair recession. So... nothing much I can do but just prolong it. I have been using the spectral-DNC lotion but I can not see any major growth. I have continued to use propecia which is working.

The crown picture is deceiving. No receding is taking place but the flash is making it look like it is. I have hair which is not dense but thick.

Anyway, will continue to update as much as I can.

Long time no update.

Just brought a new digital camera - so pardon for the bad pictures until I sort out the macro mode.

I have continued to take the 1mg Propecia and continued the Spectral DNC-lotion. The spectral DNC-lotion has not regrown any new hair on the temple region.

My new job has been really stressful and has resulting in me having a lack of sleep. My right hand side temple has receded alot - not happy.

One of the pictures shows my crown of my head. As you can see from this picture it looks like I am receding but actually due to the zoom nature of the camera, this is deceiving. The front picture makes my hair look full and well but the right hand side temple is much higher than the left.

In conclusion, the spectral DNC-lotion is not working. But due to I still having alot of this bottle, I will see what I can do.

The alternative is just to have a comb over.. LOL..

27/01/2010 Long time.....

Thought I just update this blog. As you can see, I can not see a major difference. Since I have two bottles left, I will just keep on using the spectral DNC. The pictures actually makes it look like it has made a difference.
